Mammals recorded in Xuan Lien nature reserve, Thanh Hoa province

Abstract


 

was conducted in commune, Thuong Xuan Lien Nature Reserve located in Thuong Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province was established under Decision No. 1476/QĐ-UB/2000. On geographical location, the Nature Reserve borders on south side of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve and western side of Nam Xam Nature Reserve, CHDCND Lao. This area is where the most concentrated natural forest of Thanh Hoa province, with forest coverage is above 80%. Other recent research has confirmed the potential and value of biodiversity in the region.

In our surveys, a total of 80 species recorded, belong to 26 family, of which 9 order have been recorded in the Chiroptera Bats, Carnivora are predominant in the study sites, the less dominant order are Rodentia, Primates, Artiodactyla and Soricomorpha.

The were 27 rare species, 24 species recorded from the list of Decree 32/2006/ND-CP, 23 species of the Vietnam Red Book (2007) and 16 species of the IUCN Red List (2012).
